CASE STUDY

PROJECT GOALS:

SOUL CRAFT MEDIA

Adrianna takes incredible photos and video of small business owners to let their stories and values shine.

She wanted to rebrand to include a new name, to target more of her dream clients who are passionate about their work, to refine her service offers, and to leave room for growth in the future to expand beyond just photography and videography as a service.

1. STRATEGY

While diving into the audience and Adrianna's inspirations, we created multiple mood boards for her to choose from and picked the one that felt most cinematic, powerful, and moving.

Adrianna wanted a brand that looked elevated and inspiring to connect with her mission of providing documentary style photo and video that truly tells the personality and unique story behind every business owner.

While diving into the audience and Adrianna's inspirations, we created multiple mood boards for her to choose from and picked the one that felt most cinematic, powerful, and moving.

2. LOGO SUITE

With the direction nailed down, we finalized the logo suite to include sophisticated typography with a human touch, as well as a logo icon representative of a sun dial, referencing how light and the passage of time to create imagery and tell stories are important in her photography work and in the artistry of her clients.

3. WEB AUDIT

After exporting all logo files, brand assets, and creating brand guidelines, we also dove into Adrianna's current website.

Adrianna is very talented and has the skills to do web design herself, but she wanted a little bit of design direction on how to integrate the new brand elements.

I created a brand audit for her with suggestions for user experience and conversion, as well as making a detailed and strategic wire-frame and full mockups for each page on her site.

BRANDING IN USE

These web page mockups were provided during the web audit portion of the project to provide design direction for when Adrianna would build her own site.

Adrianna implemented her branding elements wonderfully and it has been so amazing to see how she has used the brand colors in her wardrobe in photoshoots as well as redecorating her office!

ADRIANNA's REVIEW

"My experience working with Desert Rain Design for my rebrand far exceeded my hopes and expectations. From the initial injury, to the final wrap up, and all of the steps in between, I seriously could not be happier! This rebrand was not only a long time coming, but my business had been developing in a direction that was very dear to me. As someone who works in the field of brand development (photography) myself, I know how crucial it is to work someone who is both exceptionally skilled, and open to creative collaboration. I was actually quite nervous to begin as I had plenty of ideas, but few concrete options in mind. Somehow Emma was able to translate my whirlwind of philosophy and inspiration into a cohesive and strategic brand, perfectly. She is intricately thoughtful in her own artistic process and delivery of ideas, which gave me the clarity I needed and made the entire process incredibly exciting. I really appreciate her attention to detail, thorough and open communication, as well as her intention of staying true to the vision and goals of my business. Emma is such a wonderful visionary and skilled professional who deeply cares about her clients. The brand identity she developed and designed for me feels more aligned with my personal and professional goals than I could've dreamed, and is already opening new doors for me. This experience was invaluable, expansive, and I'm excited to work with her again the next chance I get!"
