We started by assembling inspiration images and I created a mood board and rough color palette.
I then sketched ideas for the initial illustration/logo and brainstormed with Brianca to figure out the perfect botanicals to include.
I then cleaned up the black and white sketch and recreated the whole thing as a vector image so it would be scaleable and easily editable.
Once the main logo was good to go, we solidified the color palette and built the additional logo variations and graphic assets!
Files were exported in all brand colors, as well as black and white, and transparent one color files so they can be used in a variety of ways.
Brand guidelines include exact color codes, typography, inventory of brand assets, thorough rules for recreating brand gradients, other design tips.
My favorite part of this illustrative character design is that is adaptable for different occasions. I also continued to work with Brianca to create variations of her logo as her earring designs evolved, which has been so fun!
Brianca now has nearly 300k followers (30x more than when we started) and her skills have been recognized by Domestika, who recently invited her to record a workshop in Madrid, Spain!
"Working with Emma was so easy, she was able to bring my idea to life and make it even better than I imagined. Every revision I asked for was met.
Somehow she knew exactly what I wanted even when I was slightly unsure in my description. The color palate and font she chose will be a huge help for my website design. I feel like my brand truly has an identity now, thank you!"
